TO SAVE
SERVICE CHARGES BEFORE CALLING, TRY THE
FOLLOWING
LASER OR
BUBBLE JET PRINTERS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COPY
QUALITY PROBLEMS:
Try a known good
cartridge, hopefully a new one. Make sure you have the
correct print driver installed & make sure all cable
connections are tight. Last, but not least, "save" the file
your working on & reboot your computer. If your still
having problems, call or e-mail us we might be able to solve
it with out a charge.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WON'T
COME ON:
MAKE SURE THE PRINTER IS
PLUGGED INTO A "WORKING" OUTLET & TURNED ON (DON'T LAUGH
IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COMES ON
BUT WON'T PRINT:
Check all cable
connections to make sure they're tight and in the right
connectors. Check that your printer setup is right (is your
printer plugged into lpt1 or lpt2 and have you assigned that
port to your printer).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DOT
MATRIX OR DAISY WHEEL
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do every thing above except
instead of changing cartridges make sure your ribbon is in
good shape, properly installed & the daisy wheel is
aligned and secure in it's mount. Do not oil any parts of
your printer they're several brands, such as Okidata that
oil in the wrong place can swell gears and burn up
motors.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COPIERS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WON'T
COME ON:
Same thing as with
printers, also make sure your outlet is on a 20 amp circuit
most copiers will draw a full 15 to 20
amps.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BLANK
COPIES:
Open the front door and
make sure every thing is pushed in i.e.; coronas, developer
unit. Is your copier asking for toner? This is one of the
most abused areas--feed your copier. If it asks for toner
feed it. Also, try some fresh paper. This means from an
unopened pack, paper absorbs water from the air and then
shorts out corona voltages through the wet paper and can
produce blank or faded copies.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISFEEDING:
Again, try fresh paper,
look at the label on the ream, there is a right side up to
paper; higher quality paper will be packed & marked
"copy this side first" look around in the paper path for
obstructions, paper, paper clips, pencils, etc. Don't laugh
this is very common. Even mice living in a copier is not
unusual. If you find something be very, very careful. Don't
use metal objects to dig things out. Drums & fuser
rollers are costly. If it's not easy to get to & remove,
play it safe & give us a call. How does that go? "Pay me
now or pay me later"! Please be careful when inside a copier
or printer.
